JazzPianoSkills Membership is open for students of all ages and experience. All JazzPianoSkills educational content has been designed and developed using a self-paced format. You can begin any course at any time, and take as much time as needed, to thoroughly master the jazz piano skills.
Three membership packages are available for you to choose from when joining JazzPianoSkills. A monthly membership is $50, a three month membership is $35 billed quarterly, and a 12 month membership is $20 billed annually. Each membership package grants you full access to all JazzPianoSkills educational content and services (Educational Podcast Packets, Sequential Curriculum with Interactive Courses, Online Classes, Private Community). Remain actively enrolled as long as you wish; you can cancel your membership at any time.

Where do I begin? I’ll start with my credentials. I am a professional jazz pianist and educator with 30+ years of playing and teaching experience. I hold a Doctorate degree in music from the University of North Texas (considered by many the best collegiate jazz program in the world, which it is).
My educational weekly Podcast, Podcast Packets, Sequential Curriculum with Interactive Courses, Online Classes, and Private Community provide you with premium educational content in a learning environment that is aesthetically pleasing and instinctually easy to use. They move you beyond “academic theory” and towards the practical “application and mastery” of essential jazz piano skills needed for performance.
To become an accomplished jazz musician, you need to discover the essential jazz piano skills (awareness), learn essential jazz piano skills (assimilation), and play essential jazz piano skills (application). It’s hard to accomplish any one of the three by immersing yourself in the plethora of random, and often misleading, thoughts being promoted through video on YouTube. All of my educational materials are educationally sound and professionally produced. JazzPianoSkills does not promise “30-day results”, it is not a short cut.

The Podcast Packets are study and practice aids designed to maximize your musical growth. Three Podcast Packets (illustrations, lead sheets, play alongs) are developed for every JazzPianoSkills Podcast Episode. The Podcast Packets are published using the standard PDF format for downloading convenience and ease.
The Illustration Packet includes beautifully designed diagrams of the jazz piano skill being taught using a variety of detailed graphics for proper conceptual development.
The Lead Sheets Packet includes multiple presentations of the jazz piano skill being taught using standard musical notation; a familiar and traditional format great for developing reading skills as well.
The Play Alongs Packet places the jazz piano skill into a musical context and ensemble setting. The audio files are perfect for developing essential jazz skills; time, articulation, and aural skills. Multiple keys and tempos are always explored.
The Podcast Packets present a comprehensive approach to discover, learn, and play the JazzPianoSkill being taught in the weekly Podcast Episode.
It varies for each individual because my courses and lessons are designed using a self-paced format. Each of my courses and lessons explores (in-depth), a specific professional jazz piano skill in all 12 keys.
Each course consists of three comprehensive lessons. The command and mastery of the jazz piano skills explored in each lesson take time and are not completed in one or two weeks. The consistency of your study will determine the length of your journey through the entirety of each course.
On average, students will spend anywhere from 2 to 4 months becoming proficient with the jazz piano skills studied in a single course.
Yes, of course. We can arrange to have online lessons at The Dallas School of Music. A private educational room will be arranged for you and me to meet weekly or monthly.
